Dr. Charles Cresanti-Daknis is a graduate of Hahnemann
University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA, winning the prestigious
Nelson Neurosurgical Award. He proceeded to Albany, New York, where he
trained in Neurosurgery as well as General Surgery. Dr. Daknis then completed
a residency in Anesthesiology where he served as chief resident in his
final year at Albany. His decision to enter interventional pain management
was based on his extensive experience with the neurosciences. After Albany
he moved to Boston to enter Harvard University’s Brigham and Woman’s
Pain Management fellowship. During his time at Harvard, Dr. Daknis also
worked on developing the radiofrequency dennervation program for joint
pain in the back and neck in conjunction with many of his colleagues at
Harvard. Upon graduation, he developed an interventional Spine Pain Program
at St. Luke’s Hospital in Bethlehem, PA, where he was director and
section chief of the pain program.
Dr. Daknis now practices full
time spinal interventional pain management at Spine and Pain Medicine. He has particular interest in spinal stimulation and intrathecal
infusion systems. He is one of few doctors in the New York Metropolitan area that has expertise with cervical spine disc pathology,
including expertise with cervical discography and nucleoplasty. Current research interests include cervical spine stimulation pressure
monitoring and retrograde spinal stimulation. Dr. Daknis provides leading edge technology and personal attention to cure or palliate chronic spine pain.
